Sometimes it's not the activity that you hate, it's the way that you're forcing yourself to do it

 

Before you get frustrated and throw in the towel, remember: sometimes it’s not actually the activity that you hate, it’s the way that you’re forcing yourself to do it.

So, question! How can you make it better for YOU?

Staying consistent is a struggle.

Creating content on the regular is hard enough during busy seasons – for obvious reasons, YOU’RE BUSY – but it can also be hard in those slow seasons when you’re not making money and get stuck in comparison scrolling through Instagram instead.

And regardless of your schedule, staying consistent can also be difficult when you’ve got an overly complicated + ambitious plan (with 527 steps that you need to complete each week).

Or if you keep all your plans in your head without a sane way to organise them.

Or if you’re LIVING ON THE EDGE and winging it (aka you don’t have a system at all).

 

All this to say that there’s a *lot* of reasons why you could be struggling with content consistency.

 

In this video, I’m going to cover a slightly different aspect that affects your ability to create content consistently.

If you feel like taking a bulldozer to your content – quitting your blog, ditching your YouTube channel, and saying goodbye to Instagram and the algorithm changes – there may be something you haven’t considered yet…

So before you throw in the towel, watch this vid:

Right now, you could feel like taking a pickaxe to your blog (or whatever content activity is making you scream internally) + killing it entirely.

But ask yourself:

Is it actually my BLOG that I hate doing? Or is it the WAY that I’m forcing myself to blog?

And what would happen if I changed it? What if I did monthly videos instead of weekly written posts? Or if I crafted letters to my audience instead of those 1,000 word articles that I hate writing?

 

In other words: have you got caught up in the shoulds of content (aka caught up in the “rules”) instead of making it work for you?

For example: I’m a writer – I “should” create written blog posts, but I also really love making videos. So you’ll find a mix of both on my blog.

Another example: Artist + creative coach, Mayi Carles, struggled to blog weekly so she decided to publish in seasons instead (like a hit Netflix show). (I’m OBSESSED with this idea by the way!)

 

Bottom line?

Consistent doesn’t mean weekly. That’s your frequency. (Which, as an aside, you can make whatever you want – weekly, every second week, monthly… or even Mayi’s fab idea of seasons!!)

Being consistent simply means you show up when you *say* that you’re going to show up.

HOW you show up and how OFTEN you show up, is entirely up to you. Remember that.
